Debra's ring

Debra's ring was the controversy of the episode "Diamonds". Ray had purchased it from Frank's friend Leon when he and Debra got married. He later learned that it was made of glass.

When Ray and Debra got married, Debra switched out the original mediocre diamond (that she didn't know was glass) with her grandmother's $15,000 diamond.

Ray, not knowing that the glass one had already been switched out, threw out the expensive diamond (thinking it was the glass one) and had it replaced.
